Tri-colored Heron

Tri-colored Heron Once known as the Louisiana Heron, the Tricolored Heron has a white belly and a white stripe running up the front part of its neck. They feed on small fish in shallow water, often in the company of other bird species, such as Snowy Egrets. A Tricolored Heron banded in Virginia in 1958 was shot in the Bahamas in 1976, making it at least 17 years and 8 months old.
